Some cultures may be prejudiced against global websites with lack of local signals. Cultures with high uncertainty avoidance have stricter legal regulations. They will leave the website when basic legal stuff is missing.

Some cultures, e.g. Russians, Poles, want to see the bottom line as soon as possible, which affects landing page design. UK English environment is different from the US one, even though they share a common language. US websites are more straightforward, while UK versions use playful language and idioms.

Any many, many more factors, such as colors, product names and form fields. Mere translation won’t help you here – you’ll need a native speaker to tackle these specifics.
