Should I Put All Content in Country-Specific Directories or Only Country-Specific Content?
If you do not have country specific content, but you do have country specific directories on your website, it doesn’t help you much. At all. There is no advantage in having duplicate content served to different markets unless the content is country specific. In fact, you can even hurt your website because geo-targeting is not an ultimate solution for duplicated content, so your website still may be penalized.
We would recommend either:
- Building one strong website and promote it globally. You will be promoting the same content, but you avoid the risk of dupe content
- Localizing the content you already have, so that different world audiences have a personalized user experience
